The average banana price traded 1% lower on R10.27 per kilogram or R185 per 18kg box and is now 39% higher than a year ago. I think we can see a slight dip in the price at the middle of May, but that we also can see higher prices again during June and July when less volumes are expected.

Apple prices decreased by 1% to R10.01 per kilogram and is now 13% higher than last year this time. I think apple prices can start to stabilize very soon. The latest pear price traded 1% lower on R8.44 per kilogram and can also remain on current levels for now.

Orange prices decreased by 3% to R5.15 per kilogram and is now 5% higher compared to a year ago. We are expecting prices to stabilize on these levels now and then possibly dip further from the middle of May to June.

The Avo price increased to by another 7% and traded on R14.98 per kilogram last week and is now 18% higher than a year ago. Variety-wise, Fuertes increased to R19.42, Hass traded on R10.58 while Pinkertons increased to R13.30 per kilogram. I still think the avo price can drop back down again slightly during the middle of May and possibly stay around current levels for now.

The average grape price traded 4% lower on R31.98 per kilogram last week, Pineapples increased by 10% to R13.44, lemons increased by 8% to R6.21 while blueberries traded 3% lower on R215 per kilogram last week.
