The banana price increased by 5% to R7.89 per kilogram or R142 per 18kg box with volumes decreasing by 19% week on week. We are however expecting prices to stay on a lower level during June and July.

 

The latest apple price increased to R8.53 last week while the latest pear price traded higher on R9.75 per kilogram. We expect that Apple prices can trend mostly sideways over the short term while pears can continue to increase.

 

The Orange price increased to R4.76 the past week and we are expecting volumes to stay on a higher level at least until August which can keep the price around or just below the R5 mark until then.

The Avo price increased by 6% to R14.93 per kilogram last week while Fuertes traded higher on R17.99, Hass on R11.43 and Pinkertons on R13.84. We are expecting Avo prices to remain around current levels for now with the average price that is likely remain around the R15 mark.

 

The average table grape price decreased to R67.30 with volumes decreasing by about 28% week on week. During June and July it is likely that this price can stay on this higher level. The latest pineapple also decreased and traded 15% lower on R9.02 while the lemon price stayed sideways on R4.23 per kilogram.
