The big uncertainty this week is the inauguration of President Trump and what the impact will be of the Tariffs he will implement. This is creating a lot of uncertainty in the global markets now. The Rand however strengthened week on week to R18.70 per US Dollar, but has lost a lot of ground since Trump won the elections late last year.
Brent crude oil prices stayed above the $80 mark and traded on 80.51 per barrel on Monday, boosted by concerns about supply disruption following the latest round of U.S. sanctions against Russia. However, easing tension in the Middle East and slow global growth may limit further gains in prices for now.
